Is there a kit for relocating the battery to the rear in a C6? Am I able to use the same battery or will it require something different to be used? If no kit available has anyone done this and would you please share how you did the relocation? Please point out what parts you used.

Thanks so much. Just curious why wasn't the battery located in the rear like the Z06 anyway? The C6 is still a sports car like the Z06. So??

I remember a guy I met at a show last summer who sold these(he gave me a car with his number/ web address...) On his car he had the stock battery up front and ran all his accessories off a battery he had mounted in his trunk(like the Z06.) For more than three hours with no outside power/ generators, he had lights flashing/ blinking movies playing on an aftermarket stereo/ DVD head unit...(and the motor off.) At the end of the show he got in, flipped a switch, turned the key in his C5 and the car fired right up... He gave me a card, but I get so many at shows that I sometimes "purge" and just throw a hand full of them away. I wished I had saved his...

I had looked at a Z06 :drool5: in the showroom, it looked as though the battery was mounted in the right storage compartment. You could probably just get the factory parts for the Z06, I'm sure it can't be that difficult. I didn't look under the hood but the fuse box is probably the same. And the battery should charge through the main cable anyway. I had actually thought about doing this at some point.

Actually I saw a Z06 at a dealer today. Looks like the same size compartment. Someone with a Z06 should know.

Actually had to see service the other day and they had a Z06 in the shop. The battery IS in the same storage compartment. It makes for an interesting decision. Although the weight being moved to the right rear corner is beneficial. Is the addition of 10-15 Lbs running the cable to the front worth it. Hate adding weight, weight=HP.
