Wires that go no where.

Trying to find out where some of these wires go when they are only connected on one end.

One white snap with wires found when changing top brake lights. Connects to nothing.

One red wire from the battery connected to nothing and not sure why it would be coming direct off the battery.

One black/green wire coming up on passenger side with what looks like may have been for rear defroster but glass is not capable.

:wtf:

Year / engine ,body style ( coupe or vert ) would go a long way ...........................

One white snap with wires found when changing top brake lights. .
What area of the car????????????????

may have been for rear defroster but glass is not capable.
Ever considered the obvious that a PO may have cheaped out and installed a non defrost glass ????????????

Once again ; year dependent. Many years have power feeds direct from the battery terminal

Is the wiring stock appearing?
Any PO may have done wiring mods to the car in the last 20 years, removing some item they had wired in before sale

I'm going to make a guess. As these C4's were also sold in Europe and Australia they have to conform to whatever regulations the countries had. Left hand drive or right hand drive or (?) and rather than make different wiring harnesses for each end destination they just made one basic harness so some of the wires go unused. Also the wiring harnesses had to include the wires necessary for all of the different options that could be ordered.
There's never been a right hand drive vette..has there?

Excluding the one in corvette summer of course...

Correct.

The Euro / Japanese even Canadian spec cars have difference like DRL's for example that the US spec cars didn't have; but all LHD

But I have been told by two Australians their C3's have to be right hand drive and one of them sent me pictures of his '82 showing everything being backwards. Right hand steering wheel, right hand pedals, right hand brake booster and master cylinder, etc. Everything had to be switched from left to right side.

Can you imagine shifting a 4-speed with your left hand? Boy, I sure can't.

I have , but not in a vette , you don't even think about it after a couple of minutes......and then it feels weird shifting with your right for a minute or two

A car being privately imported into a country and having to be converted to RHD to comply with local rules is completely different from a car being available from a OS dealership as factory RHD

All RHD Vettes ( of any vintage ) are conversions jobs

1. I have never owned any car that has not had extra wires in the wiring loom for accessories, etc that were not installed on that particular car. So do not worry about the ones that you found.

2. Look at this thread, it morphed into a thread about right hand drive vettes, simply amazing.......
at least its still going.. its been dead here, lately....and yes there are always extra wires for options you don t have
