That's is a question I have to answer for a school Marketing Project on the New C7. Why did you guys buy a corvette in general. the year doesn't matter. Does it run in your family. Why didn't you buy another car with the same amount of performance.
For Example the Dodge Viper

I bought my first Corvettte,a 1966 Convertible, in 1972.. it was a damn Chick Magnet... you could not have gotten laid more in a womans prison with a handful of pardons, than you could driving that car... have had 13 Corvettes since..

Why did I get a Corvette? I didn't: it got me.

When a person gets a Corvette, that person gets a car. But when a Corvette gets a person, that person gets a Corvette. :yoda:
There is no possible way I could top the previous comment.:thumbsup3:

Can't beat this but I'll throw in my $.02

I bought my first Vette, a 97 C5 in 2005, at a time in my life when I could only afford one car. I.e. I couldn’t have a daily driver and the sports car so whatever I bought had to serve as a daily driver. I've always been a sports car guy and always viewed Corvettes as that attainable dream. Ever since the first time I saw a new C3 Sting Ray as a child I idolized them. Once I was making just enough money to get into a used one I jumped at the chance, so I began cross shopping the Corvette and the Viper. The decision was made because simply, the Corvette at the time and to this day, is a more livable car. It has the technology, luxury, fuel mileage, low insurance rates, and creature comforts to be a perfectly suitable daily driven car and still be more than capable of being a monster at the track. The Viper simply didn't possess that combination of qualities. Now, 8 years later I am on my 3rd Corvette, a 2010 Z06 and have come to the realization that I will more than likely never go a day ever again without having one in my garage.

1) helmet law
2) performance per dollar
3) top comes off ( I had a vert and 2 targa's )
4) Ford didn't make anything comparable ( yeah , I was a Ford guy. BUT , I've won Championships with Chevy , Ford and Dodge ) )
5) 2 seater ( I've never owned a vehicle with more than 2 seats , even my van only had 2 seats . I only like to drive alone or with my woman )

not necessarily in that order
I always wanted one since I was a young kid. I first saw a '54 while walking to school in around '57. I was probably 7yrs old. Fast forward to high school, I was 16, and a cop got a new '67 big block, I rode in a buddy's '59 around this time. I was hooked, but had to wait till I was 21 to own one. It was a '74 bought new. Bad mistake. I sold it in '76, but always knew I would get another. Forward to 2008, I finally was able to buy a new one. I love it, and have no complaints, but I really want a '69, the year I graduated high school. Sorry for rambling on.:wheelchair:
Jsut look at it then drive one,I think you will find out.
Corvette; The American Icon. What any red blooded American boy dreamed of.
It's those amazing lines of the C3! When I look at the C3 I get that "thrill" feeling in the pit of my stomach. There's nothing like it. I'd always wanted a C3, and I finally got my '82 in 2010. I have my Vette a little over 3 years now, and I love it as much as the first day I got it. Driving this car is sheer ecstasy.
see what I mean, Chicks dig the car!! how are you Cat? haven t seen you in awhile

 When I was a kid, I used to sit on my front porce and draw all kinds of muscle cars. Back then, the IROC-Z was my dream car. When I became older, I still loved the IROC, but my dreams had escalated to the VETTE! It's kinda nice to be able to drive your dream car.
I have always wanted one. They look great and perform very well. Excellent performance per dollar spent. Also there is a big aftermarket making it easy to customize or add more power.

Viper/911/ferrari would all be nice, but were more than I'm willing to spend for a car. Mustang/Camaro are 4 seaters, bigger, and heavier. Even though they can be made to go fast and corner hard, they lack the sports car feel of 2 seat car.
Always one in the family..... Grew up wanting one.

Why? Because the Corvette is the absolute best sports car I the world for the money! I have owned three... A black C4, black C5 and now my Silver C6 (Z51). Couldn't be happier with the money spent to buy all three!! :)
When I was in high school, I dated a guy who had a Corvette and I was immediately hooked and knew one day I just had to have a Corvette of my own. After my kids were old enough and I could justify a "weekend car", I finally got one! Started out with a 1994 Red Coupe, then bought a 2004 Red Coupe and now I have a Red 2009 ZO6. Still have a huge smile on my face each time I go for a drive.....like it was the first day I bought it.

Hey Fish!
I'm okay. How are you? There’s a lot going on right now, so I don’t get to use my car “Rudy” as much as I’d like. The only thing that makes me feel good is knowing that I am off all summer, so even if I can’t get to do all the things I want/need to do now, I will have the time in the summer. I miss the guys from my Corvette Club, too. I hope to see them a lot more soon. They’re a lot of fun. I’ll try to keep in touch better. I’ll definitely write more when there’s more stuff going on.
Cat =^..^=
How’s Toobroke?
I have allways been a car guy. since I could afford one.i think you buy a sports car for the way it makes you feel weather it reminds you of a certain time in your life or a age when time where ezer.

it's more then getting from point a to b. it's a real passion for driving that drives a corvette owner.one might say it is even a type of therapy.no matter how bad the week been or what the troubles maybe. when I push that green button a smile starts to form. as the miles begin to go by the pipes make that sweet sound, you put that song on that take you to that place you remember so well and everything but the road, corvette and you matter at that place and time. the corvette community is second to none that speaks for it self. there's no other car for me then a corvette... :rockon6rk:
