Radioflyer97's How-To Post #15: How to adjust the C5 windows for road noise.

This is a follow up to my previous "how to replace a window regulator" thread.

Those of you non-vert owners who are suffering from annoying wind noise: there's a simple procedure to solve this.

1) The front lower mount of the window regulator (located under the door and hidden by a small rubber seal) has about 1-1.5" of transverse adjustment. Loosen the 10mm nut and move the bolt towards the outside to increase the window pressure against the weather seal.

The next two require removal of the door panel.

2) If you've just replaced the window or window regulator, check the horizontal position of the window relative to the rest of the car. There should be roughly 1/4" between the rear edge of the window and the lower window seal on the door. If you're hearing wind noise from the front or back part of the window only, this will solve your problem.

3) If either of the above solutions fail to solve the problem, there's a 3rd adjustment you can do. The lower rear track mounting bolt has an adjustment. There are 2 sides of the bolt. The outer side is the adjustment side. I believe it's a 3/4" nut head and turning this will increase or decrease the pressure of the window against the weather seal.
