hello corvette buddies, my ? is any radar detector recommendations , ive had a rocky mountain for yrs and liked it , but the volume has qiut and looking to replace , no idea whats out there thats good , thx for any imput.

I have a Escort,,,$500.00 @ Best Buy,,,,,Works great but you have to use common sense or you will get BUSTED,,,,Speed traps,,,,I got busted with mine,,but it was my fault,,,,coming off a 65 mph zone right into a 35.....he was waiting for me ,,,and when they see you have one,,,NO BREAK,,,so if you play the game ,,dont get upset when you lose.....But,,,,mine payed for itself because i like to drive a little fast ,,,,i play the game

especially now that the cops have wised up, hiding , and are leaving their Radar " off " until you are already too close, then flip it on, and you re busted !

New technogy is Escort Live. It interfaces with the others on the highway and post location on your phone map when radar is detected or posted by another motorist far before you get there. Also a product called blocker inhibits laser from getting a reading giving you more time to adjust your speed.

the trick is to go faster than the laser and confuse them

Escort is introducing their newest detector on Monday on line at noon. You can preorder now and if you are the first 1000 get free specials. This new generation has Laser blocking capabilities and can be used withEscort live. It is now on their web site and you can call Tec for more info

I run Escort 8500X50 's in all three of my vehicles,they can detect POP radar even when it is not on,the trick to using a radar detector is wait till someone passes you over the speed limit then match their speed when the get a little more than an 1/ 8th mile ahead of you, when radar clocks him you have more time to slow to the posted speed than you need,but watch your rear,Escort will pick up rear radar but not as far.I retired in 1999 so I'm not familiar with Laser,sorry.
