I read in Vette magazazine tech section that "in testing HEI conversions,..spark plug gap of .040-.045 gives better performance than factory recommended .035 inch".

Since I have done a points to Pertronix Ignitor II replacement in my custom built 350, should I consider pulling the plugs and trying this?

If you didn't also use the recommended Flamethrower coil leave the gaps at the original .035". It's the coil that determines the plug gap; not the triggering device.
