Hey got an 87, She's got 181,000 on her....last time I put oil in her it was Amsoil 5w 30, the amsoil was a personal ref. From a guy who's been area vette's all his life, owning a shop specifically for vette's. But I'm in Buffalo,NY. Now she def isn't gonna be runnin during the winter but should I stay with the Amsoil 5w 30 or get something else???
The "5W" is the winter pour point designation and the "30" is the viscosity at 175 degrees. So that weight of oil would be perfect for the New York area.
I would run it for your next normal oil change interval, see if it uses oil, runs normal oil temps.. adjust accordingly after that
