I may need to replace the front and rear seals in the 4 speed on my '73. Can I do that without rebuilding it? At 68K, I may even do a rebuild since I will have it out (hopefully it doesn't need any gears), will I need any special tools or just a "Municie for Dummies" book?

You don't have to tear it apart to put new seals in. My '68's Muncie didn't have a front seal as the front bearing has a shield on it. The rear seal comes out just like any other rear seal but the shift lever seals can be fairly hard to get out. Then once out I used a piece of 3/4" pipe to drive them in.
