Both the standard and run-flat versions have treadwear ratings of 500. That's high for a performance car and I'd say the compound is on the hard side. You should be able to get 35-50K from a set without too much abuse. I have the A/S Plus ZP version, and I find the ride fairly harsh between the harder compound and ultra-stiff sidewalls.Does anybody know how many miles the Michelin Pilot a/s tire last? are they a soft or hard tire?
what is your toe setting ?I've had them on my Vette for almost three years now. I would say they're a little on the soft side. They grip pretty decent in both hot and cold weather. The only issue I've had is that the outside on both front tires are starting to shred chunks of rubber. This is the second set I've had and each set has done this. I'm not sure if it's just my car or the tires themselves.
That would be my take. It's hard to get more than 20 - 25K from a softer compound. R compound tires would be half or less depending upon the brand. Both the standard and run-flat versions have treadwear ratings of 500.
