[c4-explosive]

hello im new to the corvette and to the forums! im joel i have a 96 c4 but i have a problem with it someone had tried to steal it so the column has a hole on the left side it always turned on fine but to shut it off i had to push to the right a little piece that came out when i turned the key back, well now it doesnt want to turn on either i turn the key amx nothing i lookex in the hole in the coln and found out nothing is moving when i turn my key forward. I tried yanking back the little metal part that pulls out and i got my lights in the dash on and my rpm needle jumped slightly but no ignition, any ideas please please help i really neex to use my car for work

There is a metal rod that runs down the column to the Ign switch at the base of the column ; that rod is operated by the key barrel
you need a new key barrel at a minimum because the contacts for the key are likely destroyed
