Headlight Motor Problems

Hey guys I have an 84 and the right headlight motor has been sluggish when closing. Now my battery is dead. Is it possible that the headlight motor is draining the battery even when closed and how can I check to isolate the problem. The relays have been replaced less than six months ago and the motor (used) was replaced a year or so ago. This happened before and that when I changed the relays and it seemed to work until now. The relays came from O'Riellys. How can I check a relay?
