Just a reminder to keep an eye on your balancer,my 97 with 40,000 miles went bad and got the front cover and the oil pan,new oil pan at GM is 750.00 found a used one on ebay for 150.00 still end up costing me about a 1000.00 if iam lucky.

I had one go bad on my 86.
It wore a hole in the timing cover.
I just JB welded it and replaced the balancer.

I hope my C5's doesn't fail. It's a lot harder to swap out .
If you do , use a new bolt.

No warning signs prior to launch? I was under the impression that a pronounced wobble and serpentine belt squeal become apparent and are the first indications that something bad is about to happen down there.

No sign at all just saw an oil leak,then it was to late.
