the 3.73 works very well with the 700r4 s overdrive. good power, and still hiway friendly.

Right on Fish. With the 30% overdrive a TH700R4 will tolerate 3.54's and 3.73's easily. You can go with 3.90's but you'll see an even bigger reduction in your fuel mileage. If you don't drag race your 'Vette I'd go no lower than 3.73's. With 3.73's you can still reach 120 mph in 3rd and you'll get there much quicker.

wtf ? U talkin about a 700 r4 with od ? I got 4 gears in mine..... Did i get the short end of the stick??????
apparently you don't know what you have, all c4 autos are 4 speeds with 4th being an overdrive. Third is 1:1 like any normal, conventional, 3 speed auto. You have a 3.06:1 extra low first gear, so be careful changing to a lower rear gear. You could easily end up with too much overall gear.

Race on!!!
