fuse box

Hi All, I am using all of the accessory connectors in the fuse block on my '73. One of the posts/connection is loose and I believe it is causing the car to die from time to time. I have looked at the major vendors and do not find one selling new boxes, just the wiring harness with a box for $$$. Is the box available by itself? If so, would it replace from under the dash or thru the firewall? Looks like a PITA job!

C3 Fuse Blocks

Which one is loose? If it's the IGN terminal and you have your coil connected to it that could be the reason your engine dies from time to time. And as I have never removed one of those fuse blocks I don't know how they are attached.

To test that terminal connect your test light to it and wiggle it around. If your test light doesn't stay lit then you have a problem with it for sure.
Try calling some vendors. Not all of the parts they carry are always listed on- line
Remove your fuse box and have an automotive electrical shop repair it for you if you think that you can't figure it out yourself. The fuse box has a bolt on the inside center of it that attaches the inside half to the outside half. It's kinda sandwiched with sealer around it, so it may be tough to get apart after the bolt is removed. Just look around really good, but I do believe it is just the one center bolt holding it in. Sound like you just need to remove the inside half for the repair. Good luck.
Buster, Mikes right, they can be rebuilt.. Wilcox Corvettes used to sell the rebuild kits..you might check with them
Thanks for all info guys, I will look into the ideas presented. Toobroke, I will try the testlight. Until I can pull the the box, I will switch the coil/pertronix with the elec choke power. At least the engine wont die. There is no space under there to do this work and I am not looking forward to it.
