'Exhausted' from exhaust system choices.

I have a 2013 C6 Grand Sport 6-speed. Im looking to put a more aggressive axel back exhaust on it. Im not too worried about drone...as most of the time I turn the radio off and just listen to the symphony of an American V8. I've narrowed my selection down to the Corsa Extreme system and the SLP Loudmouth 2 system. The SLP is quite a bit cheaper but I'm a little concerned that it may lack quality and that the low exhaust flow restriction may hurt the longevity of my motor. The down side to the Corsa system is obviously the outrageous price. Anyone have any personal experiences with either system and can give me some inside advice? Thanks!!

I don't feel that SLP is cheap so much as that Corsa is expensive...

You are buying the exhaust for sound, so I would listen to audio clips posted online.

I'm assuming you did not get the bi-mode exhaust option (NPP), right?
Ive listened to several clips...however a lot of videos are poor quality in the sound department. So I was hoping to find some people that have either ran one of these systems or have heard them in person. And no, I do not have the Bi-mode exhaust
If I may comment here even though I am a C5 guy. I have Corsa X-Treme axleback for C5. I shopped and shopped for the cheapest price I could find on the internet. This was about two years ago. I got it for $980.00 from a vendor that I cannot recall right now. I installed the system and of course liked it. About six months later I was under there and discovered some cracking. Don't be alarmed yet, there's more.....I contacted Corsa and even attached some pics of the cracking in the E-mails. When their customer service representative called me back, he explained that (by looking at the pics) the system I had been sold was of an old design that Corsa recalled. The vendor that I bought from didn't bother to send it back to Corsa. Instead they continued to sell it to the customer. Corsa honored their warranty very quickly. I simply provided them a credit card number and they sent me a brand new system with a pre paid return shipping label. I am my own personal mechanic on my C5 so when the new system arrived I installed it and using their packaging material I boxed up the old one and ran it over to the UPS shipper and sent it back to them. The whole process was very stress free and painless. When comparing prices please keep these things in mind. Also, SLP sells foreign made stuff and there IS a difference. Corsa is 100% American made and the quality excellent. There really is NO DRONE with the Corsa product. My nephew has SLP loudmouths on his LS1 Camaro and it drives him crazy with the drone. He has automatic transmission which makes it worse because he can't select a different gear to get rid of the drone. I know we're talking about an entirely different animal here but my point is, if he would have went the few extra bucks for the Corsa system he would have been happy. Now, he's stuck with what he's got. When it came time for me to later install a header system (ARH long tubes) the Corsa mated up perfectly with no alignment problems. There is now a tolerable amount of drone because I have installed a header system but I can't blame Corsa for that. You will LOVE the sound of the Corsa. The sound is absolutely infectious from the drivers seat especially if you have a manual transmission. I know I'm rambling on here but I really wanna' help you make the right decision. Hope I helped.

Does he have the original loudmouth design for the LS1 Camaro that is nothing more than a resonator and exhaust tips?
I'm not well versed on what is available for that car from SLP but I am thinking if I remember correctly, he has the resonators with tips style. All of the cheaper exhaust systems will drone.
Thats was helpful REDDVETTE. Thank you. I think I'm leaning more towards the Corsa system. But the price difference is killing me still. Im talking directly to Corsa and after they found out I recently returned from Afghanistan, theyre working with me and hooking me up with a discount. But its still almost $1600 for the system. I guess next question, does anyone know a vendor that has them cheaper?
I don't know of any vendors out there that I would recommend for the cheapest price. I just had a very good experience with Corsa even though it started out as a bad one in the beginning because of an irresponsible vendor that sold me an inferior product. Don't want to keep harping on the Corsa thing here because there ARE others like Borla, Bassani, etc. It's good that you are asking around and educating yourself before you make your decision because it is likely that you will only buy one exhaust system for your Corvette and you want to make sure you make the best decision with no regrets. I will add the fact that if you go with the X-Treme system (with x pipe) and keep the rest of the exhaust system stock it will be perfect. If you add a header system like I did it will still be mellow for normal driving but VERY LOUD when you throw your foot all the way into it. With that said I would consider an exhaust design that actually directs the flow through the cans at all times if you plan on doing headers later. If you look at the X-Treme systems design, the cans provide attenuation during normal to mid flow conditions but when you go WOT it is designed to rapidly flow through which produces a very loud exhaust note. Not sure what is available for the C6 because I am a C5 guy. Just something else to think about.:burnout:

I maybe repeating myself, but i got my Corsa Sport system with X-pipe at a great price with free shipping ( 2 days ) $100 gift card and a T shirt, but i am not sure i can post a non supporting vendors name. As said, Corsa is the best of the best. Pure muscle car sound with out the drone. If needed PM me and i will give you all the info. you need.
I went with the corsa X-treme and love it! Have never even considered looking at anything else. You'll love it.

I don't think SLP is cheap, but I think that CORSA is just a higher quality product and as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. I also try to buy American when I can,... I usually end up eventually paying top dollar for the better product.

Good luck and glad you made it back safely!
Murph, thanks for the info. Streetsideauto.com gave me the lowest price on that exhaust system. From the day I ordered it to the day I received it was only about 4 days. Quick, easy and painless. And the pipes sound incredible. I appreciate the help.
Hey! Glad i could help. Bet you won't turn on the radio for weeks.
