Please no negative comments about why cut a C4 up yada yada ... This is a donor car for my 82 vette and it was a registration nightmare and and tons of issues with car like huge cracks in firewall from improper jacking to half a$$ rear tub replacement that body shop used bondo to secure the tub and everything was involved was falling apart.

This one was better off not being on the road.

Nice pics. Could we get one from the front looking back? And what's the exact year of it?
If you were wondering the riser was cut out as well and the the "A" pillars have been cut, so only thing holding the windshield frame in place is the fact the doors are holding it up. Next cutting will be the "B" pillar and the whole remains of the rear clip will be able to be removed in one section.

It will be turned into a bare rolling frame, I did it this way so the suspension is intact for measurements for my conversion on my 82 frame.

the car is a 1990

Here is where the "A" pillars were cut and then whole windshield frame was lifted and firewall cut out.

Looks like the start of A rat rod project :thumbsup3:
Once you cut the "A" & "B" pillars off it is actually a good foundation for a kit car etc. I would think if you stretched the frame rails to alter wheel base it could be put under any car.

Even in this shape it is still a very strong frame. I might look into narrowing the side frame rails and stretching it to C3 wheelbase and see if it will fit under my 82's body.

Yes, I've tried to tell people, and have had arguments here over it, but having had a c4, c5 and c6 on a frame machine, the c4 has the stiffest frame of the 3....
Okay, I weighed each frame rail. Each weighs right about 125lbs, the rear aluminum bumper tank support weighs another 38lbs. No idea how much the front frame rail section weighs yet though.

These weights are without the metal floor pan or riser, and without the a & b pillar.

I would venture to say a complete bare C4 frame would weigh about 400-500lbs
