"After I drive my '78 for 30 min or more then turn it off my engine acts like it’s dying a slow death. It continues to run for 5 to 6 seconds before finally quitting. It’s seems like it's still getting gas to fire and slowly dies as it runs out. I can start it up immediately after and it turns off immediately It's just after I drive it for a while it does this. Any ideas on what’s going on"?

His engine is "dieseling" because his combustion chambers are full of glowing red carbon deposits and his idle speed is too high. He needs to periodically give it a 3rd gear full throttle for 4 to 5 seconds to burn out the carbon deposits then decrease his idle speed.
