My 09' coup recently just hit 10k on the odometer. Now I am getting alerts that I need to check brake fluid, service the traction control & active handling systems in the DIC. These go away the next time I start up the engine. However, these messages will return again a few days later & then go away again on the next restart. The brake fluid is fine & everything else seems to work OK. Is this just a ploy to get me to bring it in to the dealership for a 10k service? Since they simply go away on their own, is this likely a "false" notification? Wouldn't they remain if there were actual problems? Would a OBDII scanner let me clear this?

I have an '08, and started having similar messages. It turned out to be my battery going bad. I replaced it, and never saw the messages again.

I have heard of such and the battery was the culprit there also.

Thanks for the replies regarding the battery, but as it turns out, I replaced the battery a couple of months ago prior to the alert messages appearing. Guess it's possible the battery is defective, but it cranks strong.
