I posted this before, but now the problem is back. I have an '08 coupe, Z51, NPP exhaust, 6sp. man. the car has about 9800 miles, so I replaced the battery about 2 months ago. This took care of the problem until yesterday when I noticed the same issue again! I pulled the fuse as a temporary fix, but can anyone offer some insight? I really hope I don't have to replace the entire mirror assembly. I can live without the courtesy light if I have to. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried the button to the left of the steering wheel. If you accidentally hit it with something (like your knee) it will press it in and turn the courtesy lamps on. If you have hit that button, the courtesy lamps will not go out when you turn the car off and close the doors. Try pressing it. If the problem was that you accidentally hit that button to the left of the steering wheel, make sure the doors are closed and the courtesy lights on the mirror will turn off and on when you hit their respective buttons on the mirror. That button to the left of the steering wheel is also used to adjust the intensity of the dash lights.

This ^ I've had to be careful when getting out of the car to make sure that my knees didn't hit anything.

Are you not able to turn off the light? Sounds like you may indeed have been hitting something on the way out.
