Okay my c5 ran low on coolant. Don't know why but I have no leaks not in oil not in exhaust .I filled up coolant pretty sure I got air out. Not the car don't run hot, unless I'm at or around 1000rpms 10mph then when I climb a Hill at this speed because I have to ... go to work every day at 10 mph 12 to 1500 rpms the temp climbs to about 240 then I get to work Park and at an idle the car cold off. . Any wisdom on this would help a lot

I just bought the car about 10 weeks ago

I changed the oil in it so far now added coolant

The 5 year orange dexcool only lasts about 3 years. I have seen a lot of coolant systems get plugged up from the coolant.

you do need to clean out the intake side of the Condensor/Radiator periodically.. it sucks up all sorts of thrash from the road .. I found a dead bird in mine , Walmart bags, leaves, etc.. keep it clean

I heard of putting sawdust in the tranny to quiet it down before selling a car, maybe this is a really old school way of fixing a rad leak????

Okay on the follow up I got the radiator flushed and then had the fins cleaned the guy said there was so much dirt Hay and grass I want getting any air flow but it is fixed now thanks for the input

in that case it probably didn't need flushing , just blown out with air

Check ambient temp. Sensor I had same problem.
