There is a good chance his modules aren't really "blowing" but rather suffering from a bad connection at the module. The problem with the tiny female spade terminals is you can't really tell how tight they are. When I replace an ignition module I carefully bend the female spade terminals slightly closed to ensure a good connection.

Most likely a spark plug, or spark gap issue. If that module voltage doesn't result in a proper spark drain they will blow. Also don't put too much lube on the plug threads.
I was a mechanic in 1974 when the HEI's first came out and it was common to find rotors with a hole burned through their centers. G.M. scrambled to find a plastic material that wouldn't burn and the problem was soon corrected.
