Hey guys - 'Proud 99 C5 owner. Noticed parking lights are out, as are dash lights. OK, I read that this is a design feature (?) that disables the dash lights if your parking/running light are out. I checked the fuse, fuse six I think, it's OK - so further Googling shows that this is fairly common sign of a bad turn signal switch on the C5. So I set out to replace the switch and as it turns out, they have been discontinued by GM. I can only find used ones for $150 from 'Vette dismantlers. I did find one new one in Florida for $320+ but I really need a plan B - any further trouble-shooting ideas or sources for a new switch would be greatly appreciated. I can only drive her in the day time. Thanks, Charlie

The GM part number is 26075870

Doesn't sound like a very convenient "feature". I wonder how the system knows the condition of the turn-signal switch when you are not "turning"?

Can you restore power to the parking lights to see if that restores dash lighting?
