C5 - Rhythmic Intermittent Vibration at Highway Speed?

Hey Gang,

I just got this 1999 C5 a few weeks ago. It's a standard Coupe with the Z51 suspension package. The wheels are C6, and the tires are brand new.

The car handles great, but I've noticed is a rhythmic intermittent vibration at highway speed. Above 65 to 75. At 80 it seems to go away. The smoother the road the more noticeably it is. The alignment tracks straight hands off although the steering wheel is slightly off center. This vibration is not noticeable at lower speeds, or when accelerating decelerating. Highway speed, cruise control at 70...that's where it comes in. Vibration, goes away, vibration, goes away...this is a cycle. My balancer does not have a visual wobble to it so far. Wheel or Suspension bearings/bushings maybe? Any ideas?

Nice looking ride. Do you feel the vibration in the steering wheel or in the drivers seat?
I notice it more in the wheel.
I notice it more in the wheel.
That usually means its something in the front end causing it.
I would have the front end aligned. Also I had a problem with an issue similar to this on my '98. The tire installer over torqued the aluminum wheels and I had a vibration from that. It also caused a brake rotor to warp.
I'm taking it in for an alignment and balance this week. Having the bearings, suspension bushing and tie rods checked out while they are at it. I also got the Muzzy CAGS eliminator I need plugged in while it's in the air. I hate that feature. I'll post an update. Thanks!
Make sure they starighten out the steeing wheel too.
