I had planned to take my C4 to the repair shop to fix a minor oil leak but the car won't start. I got in the car, everything looked normal with the electrical system but when I turned the ignition nothing happened other than a click. With thoughts of a dead battery I tried jumper cables to no avail, nothing the C4 would not even crank. I went out bought a brand new battery and installed it and still nothing even when everything is normal with instrument panel lights and all. Could it be the starter? I am planning to take the car to my mechanic by hauling it in Monday. I've had dead batteries before and every time I replace the old with a new the car started up so I thrown for a loop here.

I have read up on it but no conclusion yet. The 84 & 85 is said to have a TDS instead of Vats. The cause cold be in the door (door locks), Starter interrupt relay and some have resoled the issue by fixing the Horn which plays a part in the TDS. The horn relay and the Starter Interrupt relay are both behind the switches in the center of the dash, easy to get to. I tried bypassing the Starter interrupt and that didn't fix it. I have limited time to experiment with it so I will update my progress in days to come.
