Looking seriously to buy - 07 convertible. 2LT package, auto tranny, dark blue metallic paint. I would rate cond. of interior and ext as 9 out of 10.Two tone interior package. Aftermarket exhaust sounds good, tires good, 60-70%, Bose system. Drives straight. 51 k miles. No navigation. Dealer asking 27.6 k for it. They have had it a while. May upgrade my c-5 to c-6. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Did you check the KBB? Seems like a steal! Guess with dealers trying to make room for new models though, that's to be expected. Are you buying it from a chevy dealership? If so, any warranty left? Extended warranty option? Is the seller willing to have the car throughly checked for other issues...especially the engine/drivetrain?

Not a chevy dealership but there is a chevy dealership right next to them, thus perhaps the competition. I do not think there will be a warranty. I am thinking that they have had it and doesnt get a lot of looks on their lot and they cant wholesale it. I would have them go thru it but since they are not a chevy dealership, it may just be the generic stuff. I will go thru it, put it up in the air, and fine tooth comb it myself. Carfax is clean- no hits, at least according to them. Check it out- Marks jeep, chrysler in Alb. Under pre owned inventory. Thanks for the reply

I think the C6 is a nice upgrade from a C5. Interior and overall feel are significantly better. The 07 is down a bit in power compared to the LS3 in the 08's and newer, but a couple mods and you can more than make that up.

Not sure what your C5 is worth, but it could be an affordable upgrade.

My guess is this summer the prices of C6's will start to fall as the upgraders move to the C7 and sell their C6. Won't effect verts and the Z06 as much since the C7 versions aren't out.

Thanks for the input ragtop. My 2000 has 50 K and I am actually ok with what they would give me. I keep my late model vettes for years, and I have never had a vert. Love the color and the interior. Gonna drive it and deal tonite prob.

I agree with Ragtop. I checked out the car on the site... what a beauty! That LeMans Blue really pops!

I can tell you that you will not be disappointed with the vert. When I was shopping for my vette, I came across the vert and didn't look back. Was pondering the z06 because of the extra power, but the A&A sc took care of that! :D
Also with you being in NM, what better place to own a vert!

Personally, I'd go for it! Is there a dyno shop nearby?? I like putting cars on the dyno...will definitely find ANY problem/s the car may have, plus you can tweak the tune while you're at it!

Let us know what you decide. Btw, your c5 is sweet as well! :thumbsup3:

Thanks for the input as well c-6...I am going to drive it today. I have an 09 challenger r/t that i am selling as well. I feel guilty for leaving it outside. i may buy two cars from them and get them to really deal. One question - I noticed that some seats have the two tone seat covers and c-6 flags and some just have the one color seats with no emblem. Is the two tone and badging part of a special package? How will I tell if this car has z-51 handling? is there a number on vin that specifies? Lemme know and keep those thoughts coming...

Not sure about the seats..perhaps a special package. I do know the z51 has bigger brakes and suspension upgrades. There used to be site that allowed you to type in your vin and get all of the details about the car. The last time I tried using it though, it wasn't working.

Z51 will show up in the RPO codes. I think they are in the glove box; look for the label on the left side. Z51 has the drilled brakes. The Mag suspension option also got them (at least in 2008) but you'd see the dial for that on the console if the car had it. Z51 has less body roll than the base car, you'll tell pretty easy when driving it.

Good luck.

So i drove it yesterday...I thought the car drove well. The body upon inspection had the scrapes on the underside from running up on curbs. had a scuff mark from someone at the dealership hitting the left front bumper. I would assume that this vettes owner never had a vette before. Paddle shift worked well and the car had decent documentation. Lots of scrapes, nicks, etc. Wheels were in great shape. I worry that the car was treated harshly. My verdict - pass. I would have to be jazzed more than i was and I am going with my gut. My c-5 is a creampuff. I would have to paint the entire care to be satisfied. I am not willing to go thru that right now. Thank you guys for all the input.

Seriously??The car has 51k on it.You expect any car with those miles to have not one scratch??Obviously it's been a driver which is actually better in many ways then a 5000 mile 6 or 7 year old car.Plus the price seems good and you're getting what you want for your c5. That will never happen again because your car is depreciating every day.Have the dealer buff out the scrapes and clean up the other stuff. I think you're nuts to pass it up.:eek2:

well then I am nuts...and am happy about it. I do not expect that the car is perfect. I didnt say that, did I? It had mnay more than mine and my 2k is 13 yrs old. But if you do your homework, and I did, then I would hope that you would agree not to purchase. Little things will tell me that the car was driven hard. My vette is nicer than this one - and I am happy to keep mine til I sell it. There will be others - and I am in a position to wait until the right one comes along. The car was sold over the weekend and I have no regrets. Maybe you bought it...
