Hi Guys

Some months ago had a flat battery. Charged it overnight with portable charger and after some days same problem again!
The battery says: "Maintenance Free do not add water"
I took all the stickers off on top and screw all the lids open. Empty...and filled with distilled water and never had a problem since!!!!!!

You need to figure out why there was "no" water in the battery. Is your alternator overcharging and boiling the water out? How old is the battery. Is it hot where you are?

When the electrolyte level drops below the top of the battery plates it can create a condition called "positive plate growth." Since the plates are restricted by the ends of the battery, they tend to warp. when they warp, they have a tendency to short out.

If the battery is over 4 years old I suggest you invest in a fresh, new battery. Otherwise, when you least expect it and at the most inopportune moment... failure to start.

I speak from eight years experience as the maintenance supervisor over a telephone company emergency power (battery, diesel generators and a turbine generator) plant.
