hey there, ive currently got flowmaster super 40's on my car but i would like new headers and something louder, trying not to anger the neighbors. do you know of any adjustable side pipes that have some kind of valve inside of the muffler?

no but you can get different replacement inserts that are louder or quieter as you desire
side pipes

I just picked up these side pipes from Summit along with a set of ceramic coated headers. They also have an install kit that contains all the pipes and clamps to connect the headers to the side pipes here are the parts.

I dont know if this is what your after. Whats nice about this set up is you can swap out the muffler part for a piece of 3in straight pipe and let it get loud.

I ve had two Vettes with sidepipes, a 66 /427 and a 69 427.. the 66 had the old finned aluminum Thrush side exhaust .. those thing would get so freakin hot! I ve still got scars on my left calf from summer driving ..
I never understood the reason for those on a street car.....

Just my opinion, but I think they look sharp. They just seem to belong on a Vette, but they look like crap on other cars. I guess they aren't very practical because of the heat, etc., but I think they are worth having.
are the scars worth it ? :z1-2:

both of mine came on the car when I bought it... but, don t let your woman get out of one , in a skirt.... she will never ride in it again
I have ceramic Hooker headers and side pipes. Love them! As far as getting the inserts out. Hmmmmm, I'd like to know how. It seems to me, once they are in, they are in.

Hey Chief, what's the latest on your TH700R4? I recently put a set of 3.70's in mine and they made a HUGE difference in each of the 4 gears.

Hey toobroke!, Sorry you haven't heard from me in a while. We have had some medical issues as well. Funny how life can be sometimes.

I haven't started it yet. I am hoping to start on it this weekend. I will send you an email to update you.

I see that you had a serious issue. Glad to see you are doing well. Talk to you soon.:patriot:
Side pipe inserts

I had to remove the inserts on my side pipes because they seemed to have lost the glass packing around them. Inside the outer pipe, you will notice two tack welds. Grind them off so you can feel the inserts moving inside,Now the real work begins. The only way I could move them was to use a metal puck like piece that fit in the pipe. Then I used an air chisel with a very long bit. That pushed them right out. Installed a new set from "Sweet Thunder"

So--how does the VA treat you? It took me 7 years to get half of the disability I was diagnosed with: PTSD! The clinics are good typically: Top brass isn't on the E's side
