As the acceleration of my '71 is pretty brutal in 1st and 2nd gear I installed 5/8" jet extensions in the rear to prevent fuel starvation. The 5/8" jet extensions require notched (Nitrophyl) floats so they have to be purchased as well. Most of the vendors stock both in a kit for around $25. After I installed mine I discovered the float BARELY rubbed the inner left side of the float bowl and caused flooding but as the floats are made from a foam material it was easy to sand a little material off the float without causing any harm. If you're into road racing you might as well buy a pair of the nylon vent baffles (aka "whistles") for another $12 to $13 to prevent fuel from sloshing out of the vent tubes under hard braking.
