what do yall think? im new to the vettes and any advice is much appreciated
Here is good info on the 75 vette. Looks like yours is the l48/165hp model and a complete original car: http://www.web-cars.com/corvette/1975.php
looks good Bassman...at least yours in in one piece. I have parts all over the place.I ran out of room in the garage and after I sanded and painted my rally wheels with tires I stacked them in the living room next to the sofa, put a round peice of plywood over the top, a nice cover and like magic you have an end table. The lamp fits perfect. My wife is the best...she understands the craziness.
yep its the l48, and all parts are original cept the rear bumper.. old one got cracked or somethin way back when from what i hear. But yea i love these cars, finally got this one. and im thinkin nows the time for this ride before it gets to late. the window has a leak, so fix that first i reckon. then new carpet, fix that cracked middle column, new door panels and fix some dash parts and the interior should be pretty mean, im gonna paint it last i think, the seals and everything seem to be good in the engine cuz its still got full of tranny fluid, oil, and coolant, so i think witha fluid change and few new hoses and a new battery she should turn over. then plannin on gettin the engine compartment in good condition. cant wait!:thumbsup3:
Wow, just had a flashback to Nov' 2009 when I trailered my car from Alabama to South Florida. Engine compartments look almost identical, red paint and trashed carpet.

Time, money and desire is all you need (not necessarily in that order) and you can bring her back or make her the way you want.

Good luck and enjoy your project :thumbsup3:

is that the same one in your avatar? casue that car is basically what im shootin for. i think they look great black with a glossy fiinish
Bassman,
I can tell you the motor is probably not original. The original valve covers are not M/T, they should be orange in color. The rear bumper was cracked due to, they are
polyurethane, and they start to crack and discolor. Did they put on fiberglass
bumper? I bought my '75 new, and I need to replace the bumpers this winter. I'm told, polyurethane are no longer made.
ive been wonderin about them valve cover, and i know you cant see it but the block has orange but its quite dirty. actually very dirty. im wonderin if they blew a gasket or were damaged and they replaced them for some reason. idk the story about that. And yea i heard that about the bumper to. and yes its fiberglass now. however.. i love the older look of those bumpers which i believe are from 73'? they have that curved out to them above the lights. i found those bumpers that arent the whole entire rear section. i might put that bumber on there. we shall see.
Good luck, looks like a great project
