GenX™ Street Cylinder Heads for GM LSX
205cc Intake Runners
It’s no secret—GM LS engines are the hottest thing to hit the scene since Chevy
debuted the first small block back in 1955. Thanks to its compact dimensions, high
power output, and lightweight construction, one version or another of this engine
series has found its way under the hood of all GM’s hottest production cars since 1997.
4.8L and 5.3L iron block versions of the LS platform (the Vortec) have found
their way into millions of GM pickups, vans, and SUVs. Until recently, no one
gave these motors a great deal of consideration. But as more and more GM trucks
make their way into the boneyards, the “little” LS engines are finding their way
back to the street as the power plant of choice for kit cars, hot rods, musclecars,
street machines, and sport trucks.
To build serious street power, all that’s needed is a good set of heads—Trick
Flow’s new GenX Street Cylinder Heads.
Starting with the track-proven GenX Street/Strip LS head design, Trick Flow
engineers refined the combustion chambers to retain the stock compression ratio
and work with the smaller bore diameters of the 4.8L, 5.3L, and 5.7L engines.
They also modified the chambers to unshroud the valves and increase airflow and swirl.
The GenX Street heads are available in three versions:
- Option One features standard cast chambers and our Fast As Cast™ ports
that precisely duplicate the port shape and profile of fully CNC-ported heads,
and valve seat-to-port bowl blending for better transition from the chambers
to the ports.
- Option Two combines the Fast As Cast runners with fully CNC-profiled
combustion chambers and bowl blending for improved airflow.
- Option Three features fully CNC-machined and bowl-blended chambers and
CNC-ported runners for maximum airflow.
In any configuration, GenX Street cylinder heads outflow and outperform
factory LS6 heads.
GenX Street heads are fully assembled and ready to bolt on right out of the box.
The components include lightweight stainless steel 2.000" intake/1.575" exhaust
valves, high lift valve springs, chromemoly steel retainers, ductile iron valve seats, retain the use of all stock sensors and fittings and can accommodate aftermarket
roller rocker arms. Bare cylinder head castings are also available.

Trick Flow Fast As Cast™ Cylinder Heads -
Great Performance at an
As-Cast Price!
Not everyone needs the all-out airflow capability of a Trick Flow CNC-ported
cylinder head. But you can get plenty of power-building airflow with Trick
Flow’s Fast as Cast cylinder heads - and for about the same price as the “other
guy’s” standard cast heads.
To create a Fast as Cast cylinder head, our engineers digitize the intake and
exhaust runners from a fully CNC-ported Trick Flow cylinder head. Those
digitized profiles allow us to make a high-flow cylinder head without costly
CNC-porting. That means Trick Flow Fast as Cast cylinder heads outflow any
standard cast head available - and even rival some of our competitor’s CNC-ported
heads. You get great performance at a very affordable price!
Fast As Cast cylinder heads - yet another innovation that proves Trick Flow
does mean Ultimate Bolt-On Performance!™
GenXTM Street/Strip CNC Cylinder Heads for GM LSX
215cc (LS1) • 225cc (LS2) • 235cc (LSX) Intake Runners

When the engineers at GM developed the LS series of engines, they provided
enthusiasts with the most technologically advanced small block Chevy ever. Now,
Trick Flow has raised the bar of Serious Horsepower and developed LS cylinder
heads that significantly increase the performance of late model GM musclecars.
During the development stage of the fully CNC-ported Trick Flow GenX
Street/Strip CNC cylinder heads, Trick Flow engineers determined the valve
angles needed to change from 15° to 13.5° to decrease valve shrouding, increase
mid-lift airflow, and improve rocker arm-to-valve cover clearance. Testing also
proved that relocating the spark plugs in the combustion chambers further
enhanced mid-lift airflow and increased the rigidity of the casting for extreme
horsepower applications. Furthermore, additional material was added to the rocker
arm mounting points for high-rpm valvetrain stability.
These fully CNC-ported performance cylinder heads feature 215cc (LS1),
225cc (LS2), or 235cc (LSX) intake runners, 80cc exhaust runners, 64cc (LS1),
65cc (LS2), or 70cc (LSX) combustion chambers, 2.040" (LS1), 2.055" (LS2), or
2.080" (LSX) intake valves, 1.575" (LS1/LS2) or 1.600" (LSX) exhaust valves,
bronze valve guides, and ductile iron intake and exhaust valve seat inserts.
Assembled heads come equipped with 1.300" dual valve springs (for hydraulic
roller camshafts up to .600" of valve lift), Viton® fluoroelastomer canister-style
valve seals, 7° machined steel valve locks, and 7° titanium retainers. Bare cylinder
head castings are also available.
