Will it depends on the driver.
C6 Zo6 12.8-13.4 with a good driver. C6 13.5-14.0 with a good to average driver. C5 13.7-14.4 with a good to average driver. C4 ZR-1 12.9-13.5 with a good driver. C4 GrandSport 13.7-14.2 with a good to average driver C4 14.4-15.2 with a good to average driver. Oh and ET top speeds are anywhere from 100mph-118mph... All of these numbers are what I have seen at the track. All of these Vettes didnt have drag slicks either..I bet the guy you got into an arguement with drives a Honda or some other import right?Well what ever it may be I bet the torque on your C5's wheel nuts is about half the total torque his motor puts out.... Nice ET...What in the hell do you have under the hood a jet engine maybe? All of these times are from LACR the track is 3000+ feet above sea level.

Sorry fellas!! I forgot to mention that I was in my buddies 04 with a blown 427! That tends to make a difference, I am not a big dragger but he talked me into it saying that it would be more exciting than road racing!! Well I still like road racing better, but I will admit that it was fun!

No times myself but looking to add some nice power under the hood so I can go to the track and have some respectable numbers!

I'm in a Corvette club that races once a month. So far, my best time has been 100.7 mph at 14.3. My car is completely stock.

I run a stock 99 C5 FRC. In Denver Colorado at 5800 ft above sea level I run 14.63sec @ 99.5mph but on Hot Rod Drag Week at Cordova Dragway in Cordova Ill. we ran 13.21sec @ 106.5mph

What a great topic for first post! I went out yesterday to our dragstrip here in Albuquerque, NM. We're over 5000 foot elevation, so take off roughly a second if you are sea level.
My first time out in the new car, a not stock Z06. I have an unknown cam (last owner had no documentation, grr, but it's healthy and rocks the car), full exhaust with Kooks headers, and the twin cone intake. I also have no fourth gear as I found out in my second run of the day. The syncro's are shot, and on this third (and my last run of the day) I kept in it and hit the rev limiter before I finished the quarter mile, so my MPH is actually going to be down a bit from if I had been able to shift to fourth. I slept on the light, have not done this since the early 90's A terrible 60 foot time of 2.264, and I still got a 13.55 at 106.8 mph. I'm happy with that for now. This is on crappy stock sized tires (not goodyears), and running a bit rich. It really needs a tune up. And fourth gear! Here's a video of the run: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34fdaUDl140 |
