My sub just took one for the team today as a tool box was put into my trunk and put a hole through my speaker.
I didn't have a grill over the speaker to protect it. I had 10" kicker there and was looking for suggestions on other sub manufactures. I see some audio people here so looking for some good advice. ![]() |

You can do a lot better than kicker so be sure to take advantage of the opportunity. Truly it would be nice to know the type of enclosure or at least the volume of the enclosure you're using because my final recommendation might be dependent on that. But here's some brands that you can look into for your replacement. Infinity, Memphis, Boston, Treo, Diamond Audio, Image Dynamics, etc.

Their lower end stuff (P1,P2) is almost flea market stuff. You really need to get up to the P3 model and higher to get their good stuff.

I agree with what Steve said.
Though I used 10" Dual Coil Alpine Type-S and was throughly happy with it.

MTX Audios are nice too. I have two 12 for my standard cab pickup that a re 250 rms and 500 max and I REGULARLY push well into the 500-600 watt range continuosly with 700-800 watts when it hits hard. I've been doing that for two years and I bought them used from a guy who though that 4 of them was to much for his intrepid, best $125 I've ever spent.
Reall yRockford anything isnt to bad P1s and P2s are cheap but even the P3s the dust cap WILL crack.

Type's S subs are underrated IMO. Now that the Type R has grown into a huge sub that won't fit most vehicle applications, the Type S is typically one of my 'small box' recommendations.

If you decide you want a big sub like the 12W6V3, or an Alpine Type R, I have a box for C5's that will fit in the center well, and absolutely hammers!! I am sure there are several choices for you depending on the subwoofer you decide to go with, but here is the link to mine. Hope this helps!!
