bite the bullet and buy the pre-fitted sets...nothing you try to cut in .. will look as good ....http://www.ecklerscorvette.com/corve...loop-1976.html http://www.ecklerscorvette.com/corve...pile-1976.html

I think most of the good carpets come with a heat deflector layer too but you might consider adding one if not. Not sure if yer '77 has same cabin heat issues as older ones but if so, u can sure use the help.

Did it in my 73, two things, add the sound and heat barrier, not that expensive, AND, be sure to protect the door post as you put the seats back in-can screw up the paint.

Get carpeting that is molded and not the cheap ones with sewn seams. Tried that on a previous car and it was a disaster. Get the molded carpets!

trust quality carpet venders. I have heard of bad experiences with carpet not fitting the application. I used Willcox and they were awesome, as with everything else that was purchased from them. I am a big fan of them. ordered the jute padding for the front of the cabin only. Dynamat was expensive. I was once told that you could go to a home improvement store and get the insulation (foil) that they sold there. Did not do that, however. Yes, premolded is best.
