I bought a new set of chrome side mirrors for my '71 a couple of years ago and since then they have loosened to the point in which wind alone would change their positions. The trick to keeping those mirrors adjusted is to get them set exactly where you want them then dab some red Loctite into the ball.sockets. Once the Loctite hardens in the socket it'll keep them adjusted until they get bumped hard enough to break the Loctite loose.

Loctite only hardens in the absence of air so you can dab some into the ball/socket then wipe off the excess with a Q-Tip or something similar. Blue Loctite will also work well but it isn't quite as strong as the red Loctite.

I would send the mirrors back. I bought a replacement mirror from Zip and it stays in place great. You really have to grab it with 2 hands to move it at all. It has been on for about 2 years and still feels the same as when I bought it.

After having them installed for the last 2-1/2 years I doubt anyone would take them back. Like anything else I would think some brands are just better than others and I got some of the others.

Should have stayed away from kragens.......
