wondering if anyone can tell me how to find out if the trans and diff in my 2001 z06 are original and stock parts for the car. diff part # 12561853 and trans part # 115102501. Both pieces broke and it's obvious that someone had their unskilled hands on the car before I got it.

went to dealer and got the part numbers to replace both items and found different numbers from what is in the car. bought a new diff and the housing casting is different. the new one looks to be stronger in the area where mine broke. I wondered if the z06 might have had heavier duty units installed from the factory.

diff was 1400, trans is being disassembled to find out how much to rebuild, new ones are about 3400
