Default negative camber question

My '76 has a noticable negative camber on rear passenger side. The driver side wheel is straight but pass side wheel is not. The strut rods are stock and aren't bent. What part should I be looking at to cause this? The car from the rear has a slight lean to that side also...I hate leaning cars...grrr.

As the rubber strut rod bushings slowly squash from the tension on them the tires start tilting inward. You can loosen the cam bolts and turn the cams (on each side of the rear end housing) to correct the inward tilt but I have found the lefthand/righthand threaded adjustable strut rods that the vendors sell for around $100 are much better as they use larger diameter and much harder bushings. The original cam adjustments will only correct about 2 degrees of camber but the adjustable strut rods will correct about 10 times that much.

Recently my right tire suddenly tilted inward over a period of a couple of days and I found the outer u-joint had failed (spit the needle bearings out). On the C3's the half-shafts are "loaded" as the shafts actually under a compression load and hold the rear end up. When it comes to u-joints I will only buy Spicer as they are the very best u-joints and are OEM on all American-made cars, trucks, and heavy equipment.

Ok, thanks!
I'm going to take a closer look at the u-joint. I've had the vette for just about a month now and did'nt notice this when I got it. I will see about the strut adjustment also.
Someone local without actually seeing it said the split ring? in the rearend chunk was worn. I am not a mechanic like he is but still, that didn't seem like a cause with the way the rear axle design is set up on the Vette.

its not the differential, its most likely worn bushings in the rear strut rods.. like toobroke said, there is some adjustment on the cams but not much.. if your bushings are bad,...for just a few bucks more, I would replace the rods with the aftermarket adjustable ones ..much better

Thanks for the info guy's. After letting penetrating oil soak overnight on the bolt and nut to the strut rod I was able to loosen the nut and adjust it, much better now.
