Question about EGR/Tune.

After doing some research, I've read that some people delete their EGR system and all is fine. Other says that you need to richen up your tune when you delete EGR.
I will probably be getting my C4 tuned by the end of this month or the next. Does anyone know if it could be possibly to tune the car with the EGR pipes in place minus the actual EGR valve and blocking the holes on the intake manifold? I ask because I could easily remove the EGR valve and block the holes on the intake manifold, though I might not remove the pipes on the headers right away. To clarify myself on why I want this. I'm not doing this for any power gain, I'm doing this for easier removal to certain parts when I perform mechanics on my car. Last year I damaged my coolant crossover pipe because I was too busy trying to get the EGR pipe out the way to change my passenger side valve cover gasket! (Long story short, I turned a simple gasket change into a mission changing crossover pipe, it worked out)

I bought my Vette some time ago with the EGR removed. I am not sure if any setting was changed but I am sure the MAP sensor should adjust accordingly?

I deleted my EGR with no ill side effects other than a cleaner engine bay; which isn't ill to any extent. Check your emission laws first. Mine is also an 86, yours is much newer.
People tell you you will need a new prom chip to prevent knocking when under a load or harsh driving conditions. My argument to that is this: the EGR valve is shut off under harsh driving conditions. Your car may run a little rich but if you're not adverse to slightly poorer gas mileage and changing your plugs slightly more frequently, let 'er rip. I would always prefer to run my car slightly rich before any bit lean. Lean is mean.

C5's are ugly. For a fraction of the C5 you can buy a new motor online
At least that's what I'd do. I love the C4's.

I'll need something more reliable, C5 is my calling right now. In the future I would love to buy another C4...same exact color. Plus working on a LS1 is a dream compared to an LT-1....

I can imagine. Best of luck to you, it will be a shame to lose another level headed person in the C4 section. For some reason it can get infested with stupidity from time to time.

While I miss my C4, especially right after the engine upgrade, I do like my C5 better.
No rattles and easy to get in and out. Then the HUD, memory seats, nav system and other creature systems are nice, but so is the 475hp under the hood and race suspension. Looks pretty nice too.
