Default Power steering pump whine

Hello guys

m y power steering pump is makeing a whine noise when you turn it back and fourth is there some kind of fuild that you can get to make the noise go away ? And yes the fluid is full i was woundering about lucas oil produts they carry power steering fluid so if you could help me out on this i would be greatful

It sounds like your pump has been run out of oil at some time and the vane ring has suffered some damage. And no brand of oil is going to make it run quiet.

My power steering has been making that whale call for nearly a year now . It's still holding up, I dread the day when it comes time to replace it lol.

HI Guys

I fixedthat whine in my powr steering whatI dd
was I drained all of the old fluid out I then put Lucus power steering fuild in it I the started the car up turn the wheel back and fourth no more whine i swear by the Lucus oil products it saved me 100.00 for anew pump

Vane pumps will whine any time the vane ring gets damaged and no brand of oil will quiet it down. So expect to hear your whine again once it warms up.......................

Sounds like a ball bearing problem. Its all ball bearings these days.
