Default fuel guage

My 75 vette fuel guage reads way past full at all times. any ideas

The wire to the tank or the sender has a problem. It's not connected, or the tank is not grounded.

That's also my guess. The wire is either disconnected or not making good contact...........................

Most likely the ground has rusted and not making a good connection.

From past experience I have found the rubber weatherproof connection gets REAL hard with age and then the wire loses it's contact with the stud. But yes, the ground may also be bad so both need to be checked out.

And while he's back there now would be a great time to put a common 2" X 4" inline filter in the 12" hose. All three of my C3's have a filter back there as it's such a dandy place to put one.

Where can you access the connections to the fuel tank, do you have to drop the tank?

check the wilcox web site. they have a tech in the sending unit and how to diagnos.
