Default Rear gears?

What is the quickest way to determine what gear ratio is in my '99 Vert? I seen posts that it could be a number of different ratios. It is A/T. I believe a 4L60E.

It should be on a tag in the rear or written in white paint.

If it is an auto, put it in third gear and drive 70 MPH- the RPMs divided by 1000 will match the gear ratio. So if at 70 MPH you are running at 3150 RPM (±), you have the 3.15 performance gear. If you are running at 2730 RPM, you have the 2.73's.

its not a bad ratio for a stock engine that you don t run hard...my C5 gets over 28mpg with it... if you want more performance [ I have a C3 for that] increase the ratio to 3.42 or 3.73 ...will make it more responsive at low end but will lower mpg
