Default fuel regulator ?

Hi I am new to this forum and thought you guys can help me out. I have a 95 vette with the P code LT1 engine, here is the deal. When I drive the car when the ambient temp is about 80 degrees and higher and drive about 10 to 15 miles and then drive in town traffic and then shut it off for about 1/2 to a hour, and then get in to start it up, it starts right up but as soon as I start down the road it starts to miss and even back fire while doing a mild accelerating. If I back off right away and slowly increase speed it will continue to do this for about 1o blocks and then come out of this and run fine. I can then do this again and it will not do this. Any ideas is it the regulator. Thanks for the replies in advance !

I suggest checking the fuel pressure first

Could be many things from fuel problems to ign problems. Check the computer for codes first........then fuel pressure, ign timing, etc........
