Ever since I got this 06', the rear window has been too low, coming a fraction of an inch away from the rear of the roof when I lift the hatch. It binds the trim seal when I lower the hatch, and has torn the 2nd seal I have had on the car. I recently looked at several c6's in Monterey, at Laguna Seca, and noticed some others were also low. My local auto glass shop would not get be able to adjust it unless they raised the hatch to do so. I have felt that the window alone could be raised higher at its front to solve. I just looked at a guy's 07' today, and his glass is almost in perfect alignment with the roof. HELP!

Need 9 more posts before I can can add a link. But, I do have a you tube video showing the problem.
It's labeled: 06' C6 low rear window. The glass and hinge are tight. I believe some sort of glass adjustment would fix it. I am mechanically inclined and skilled. I am just looking for some tech help. Thanx |

To adjust the rear window higher, without raising the hatch; For info, it is an adhesive glue attached window. It must be cut loose from its mounted position. new seals must be installed, and the window is then adhesively bonded to the hatch. In this case, I believe the shop, "Golden State Auto Glass," used a thicker bead of adhesive, to raise the window. It can be pulled up, while still uncured, with suction cups, to help position it. This needs to be done by an experienced glass shop. Hope this is a help to someone.

glad you got the problem solved, but it really seems like something Chevy should have fixed.

There is a recall out on the rear hatch hinges.
