Default Best Headers?

Best fitting headers for a 1980, 350, 4 speed? Ceramic coated would probably be the best. Also, long tube or just the shorty headers with the stock exhaust? Ground clearance is also a concern, I don't want the headers sticking down below the level of the oil pan.

Long Tubes are shown to make more power .. they will be lower than your oil pan.. it won t be a problem, I have never dragged mine on anything.. I run Hedman , I like the Ball and Socket collector flanges ..no more blown out gaskets between the bolted flanges .. fit is good, a little tight on my Angle Plug Alum Heads # 3 and #4 plug .. you can buy better , but you will pay for it. Ceramic is a plus, for durability and containing heat....Oh, one last thing, bigger is not better ..stay away from large diameter tubes , they are for large displacement ,hi-output only.. a 1 5/8 or 1 3/4 inch tube is more than enough.

I went with block-hugger headers on my '79. The fit was very close to the exhaust manifolds, but needed a little modification on the exhaust pipes. I also needed to install a new mini starter to clear the headers.
