oil leak

I believe the oil temperature sending unit on my 85 is leaking.It weeps fluid onto the exhaust header and smokes. It is right close to and above the oil filter, am I right? I wouldn't want to buy the wrong sensor. any help will keepmthe brewerys happy

The oil temperature sensor is on the LEFT (driver's) side, rear of the block, above the oil filter mounting pad.

Just make sure that is the unit that is leaking and the oil is not running down the block on to it from a leaking oil pressure sensor at rear of the block under the dist
