This thread is for all you SmokinVettes out there that have questioned or pondered the thought of a Naturally Aspirated engine. The supercharger and twin turbo companies have done an excellent job of marketing and engineering of some incredible components. We have taken delivery and installed one of the most reliable superchargers on the market - Magnuson - thanks to the folks at Callaway!

Our other 2005 C6 (black) project Vette is getting a whole different engine set up. Thanks to Tony at Air Flow Research and Mike with Haddad Motorsports, this Vette will potentially push more power than our blown engine?!

Need to be motivated? Here is a recent video of Tony's naturally aspirated C5 beast! The video starts off slow as we traffic clears, then speeds up a bit at the end! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcqJW82Q1Q0

With all this said, if you have any questions that you have regarding Naturally Aspirated engines ONLY post them here. Blown motor questions we be addressed in other threads! Thank you.

What do you feed that thing??! I showed a couple people that video and everyone has the same opinion! Just when you think you have a fast car, you see something like this! Love it!

All the previous post clearly show my thoughts as well. Would be interested to learn what you did to the motor?

Default N/A all the way!

Guys,

The silver C5 in the video belongs to me and has been the AFR poster child for our LS line of cylinder heads (the car we have been using for most of the Gen III R&D efforts).

It currently has a 383 CID engine with our 225's and a small street friendly solid roller cam. Its a very optimized package that I built personally and is currently generating 535-540 RWHP (610 documented flywheel HP) with close to 500 RWTQ as well (485-490 usually). You could drive this combination every day, yet it still knocks down close to 25 MPG on the freeway and will run high ten's at 129-130 MPH.

Here is a link to a very detailed thread of the engine dyno testing I did over a year ago....

http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showth...=384450&page=1

And here is an even better video of the car in action....

http://videos.streetfire.net/search/...c851bf28ca.htm

Enjoy!

Regards,
Tony

PS....While N/A serious power is much more difficult to produce, the results and looks on peoples faces make it all worthwhile. It just takes time, money, and the right combination with the latter being the most important.

PSS....In the event I roll up on something really serious, I also have a Nitrous Express wet kit which would be useless till at least 3rd gear on anything but a purpose built drag tire (ET Street or straight up slick).

The possibilities are endless.....half the battle is figuring out what works the best for you.

Punisher....the hood is an RK Sport hood that I really like as well.....now if I can just find enough time to paint it....LOL (Luckily the hood is gray gelcoat and my car is silver so it doesnt look that bad unpainted!).

I need to have Alex or Greg transfer all this dialogue to an actual thread....we have been responding to basically an unrelated sticky. I will give them a call on Monday.

Tony
