Default Driver's rear view mirror

Anyone know where I can find a break down of the out side rear view mirror. I have one that seems loose rattles with windows open. Please reply to mysupport@comcast.net
Thanks in advance

Does it seem the mirror is loose at its base mounting with the door skin?

There is a piece behind the mirror called a trunion. It is similar to a + sign type shape. They fall apart, and cause the glass to rattle. You'll need to get one from the aftermarket companies (couple of dollars + s/h), pull the glass out, and put the new piece in.

Don't guy buying a bunch of parts just yet.

Pop the mirror out. Use a screw driver and a rag if needed for leverage. The mechanism inside the mirror is screwed into the fiberglass of the mirror. just tighten up the screws and if you want use some blue thread locker. Then reinstall the mirror. I would add some fresh dielectric grease to the shafts that goes into the motor when you reinstall.

It worked to fix my rattle.

Mine too. Never bothered me much but if it is such an easy fix, I don't mind doing it.

Had the same problem...1st time owner June of this year. Easy and inexpesive fix...I went down to the local hardware store. Purchase 90 cents of stainless steel hardware. Made the screws a little longer so as to use a washer and split washer (lock washer). I didn't want them screws backing out again.
