Question How do you remove passenger side mirror?

My wife was backing out the Vette and got a little to close on the passenger side to a pole that is in the garage and damaged the mirror. I have placed a few calls on getting a used replacement mirror from junk yard. In the mean time I would like to figure out how to remove this from the car.

I assume I will need to take the door apart, but having instructions would take the guess work out of this. Will I need to remove the glass to get to the mirror assembly? The car is a 2005 C6.

Thanks for the help.

Jack

Default How do you remove passenger side mirror?

Getting hit by a deer worked pretty well for me.

Very easy. Remove the door skin, and then there is three nuts that hold the mirror.

Excellent diagram Thanks for posting this. At least with the drawing this should make it much easier to pull off and replace.

Sorry to hear about this. A good reason why I don't let anyone drive any of my cars.

The OP said his wife did it. Trying to stop your spouse from driving "your" car can have more negative repercussions than you might want to deal with.

Well in this case the OP would now have the "I told you so" card in his pocket!

Steve, I did the same thing in checking the service manual but unfortunately, It doesn't appear as easy in the actual door.

The actual attachment point is on the outside door skin. To gain access to it, remove the door panel and you will find the three bolts just behind the black waterseal patch just above the speaker at the top left of the door panel as seen in this picture.
