I am running 50/50 but some people say that it will run cooler with more water?

Yes that's true but with the 50/50 your not risking anything. Useing only water you got some risks.
I run 50/50 cause there not worth it to me .

Antifreeze is specially formulated to not only help cool your engine and prevent freezing in cold climates, but to lubricate the water pump and prevent internal corrosion. Run it with antifreeze!

Plain water boils at a lower point than water/antifreeze.
The only place you shouldn't run antifreeze is in drag racing. You don't want to mess up the track in the event of failure!

If you run plain water you will ruin the aluminum parts of your engine and cooling system that are exposed to it thru corrosion.

stick to 50/50 mix, if you need to start modifying your coolant mix to cool your motor, you have bigger problems . improve the system not the coolant ratio.

Default Water cools better

Actually, water cools better than antifreeze or a water-antifreeze mix. The heat transfer capability of water is over twice as great as that of antifreeze. see http://www.redlineoil.com/content/fi...ech%20Info.pdf
You do not want to run straight water in your Corvette. If you do, you will need to put in some additives for corrosion protection and lubrication of the water pump.
The higher boiling temperture alluded to in an earlier post comes from the system running under pressure. The water-antifreeze mix has about the same boiling point as water when at about 15 pounds of pressure.
The main benefits of a water-antifreeze mix is corrosion protection, water pump lubrication, and a lower freezing point. Better cooling and higher boiling point are not two of the benefits.

I agree with most of that the exception being that antifreeze does not raise boiling point . It does ,to 265 degrees . read the back of any Prestone container. Water will boil before that even under pressure. ,http://www.newton.dep.anl.gov/askasc.../chem03987.htm ,read for yourself
