Default Vents on Bottom of Doors

I'm thinking about purhasing Stainless Steel "dress-up plates" that attach to the bottom of the doors using 3M Tape. The plates will cover the vents on the bottom of the doors. So, what are these vents for and if cover them will there be a problem. Thanks all!

I would like to also know how the Eklers ordeal panned out. As for the door things I have not even seen them before.

Default Vents on Bottom of Doors.

I guess I'm a bit confused! If the vents are for air ciruclation and water drainage, why is there a rubber plug in the holes/vents? Thanks!

Default Hey Ian, Happy Holiday!

Have you considered a "dress up" of a different kind...?

Here's a few pics of my puddle light mod.
The wire is routed thru the outer rubber door "vent"...

I get comments on this mod the most...

I'll check my service manual a little later and see what it says about those rubber stoppers.

BTW; I like the new avatar pic!!

Default Puddle LED's

I like it...! What wire(s) did you "tap-into" to get power to the LED's?

I thought you might like this idea...
...that was before I noticed you have lambo doors.
I understand the Stainless Steel dress up question, now. Just figured, with your interst in cove LED's...
I'll pm you about the puddle lights if you'd like.
So far I can't find any reference to the rubber stoppers in the door in my Service Manual, yet.
I wouldn't think it would be too big a deal to cover them. JMO.

Default Puddle LED's

Thanks for the quick response...! "Stainless Addiction" who makes the "cover plates" for the bottom of the doors has told me that will MOD the plates by cutting out opening where the rubber plugs are located. So, that takes care of the Stainless Steel Plate-Plug problem. But, I still want to add your "Puddle Light LED MOD"...I really do like the Blue Light effect which matches my Interior Blue LED's. So, anything you can tell or show me via pics of how you did your MOD is greatly appreciated.(e.g. wire size used, solder/wire-taps, where you get power from, etc,etc...I love details! Thanks again for the quick response and I am anxiously awaiting your reply...I need something to do over the coming Holidays!
