anyone know what that symbol stands for in the corvette logo?

The symbol is a French fleur-de-lis (flower of the lily) which symbolizes peace and purity.
It represents the Louis Chevrolet family crest for which none could be determined.
It was chosen because the Chevrolet name is of French orign.

As I recall the logo was originally to have a USA flag on one side,

but the lawyers said it was not to be done. I dont think that they could have copyrighted a flag logo, so they put the French thing since Chevrolet/corvette are French derivitives.
